Cybil received her MA in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy and Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute, where she was awarded the Founder’s Scholarship. Previously, Cybil received her BA in Dance from The University of California, Santa Barbara Department of Theater and Dance in 1997. She then spent over two decades as a professional artist utilizing an intermodal approach to support soul-centered and embodied inquiry practices and lifestyle choices and community healing through the arts. In addition to an extensive background in massage and bodywork and a two-year residence at the Esalen Institute, Cybil holds multiple yoga certifications and a comprehensive certification in Pilates through Body Arts and Science International. Cybil holds a unique, immersive lived experience in the world of the therapeutic arts that lends itself to her natural and holistic approach as a clinician.

Cybil has worked with her mentor, Alexis Slutzky, LMFT, for over two decades taking part in multiple dream groups, council circles and trainings, soul-centered eco-psychology retreats, women’s groups, grief rituals, personal counseling and a six-month long Soul Training. Cybil has also studied with Sharon Tollefson and Jess Sieber Grasso through Women’s Reclamation and Renewal; retreats that guide women on a journey of transformation in a wilderness context. Additional training and inquiry includes but is not limited to: early childhood development, sacred sexuality, ecstatic dance, cooking, vision painting, essential oils, vision boarding, fine art and memoir writing.

Cybil is currently in the Conscious Uncoupling Coach Training program which will complete in April, 2022. Conscious Uncoupling (CU), created by LMFT and bestselling author and visionary Katherine Woodward Thomas (2009) is a five-step process to support the conscious completion of an intimate relationship. Conscious Uncoupling has helped thousands of couples create new, life-affirming and cooperative agreements toward a more peaceful future for themselves and their children. CU can be explored within an individual or couple’s context.

Cybil’s primary theoretical orientations are person-centered, eco-depth psychology and somatic psychology. Utilizing the natural environments of parks, beaches and open spaces, Cybil works within the context of Mother Nature to create a container that is both safe and dynamic. Drawing upon the support of the natural world, innate creativity and the expressive body, Cybil is a true partner on the journey toward a more easeful and authentic expression of life. In addition, Cybil draws upon her understanding of family systems theory, art therapy, play therapy/the work of Violet Oaklander, CBT and DBT.
